First name / friend, it's time to start thinking about 2024.
Now—before you're like “hold the freaking phone, Kleist, it's literally November, and we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet!”… that's exactly why you should start now.
If you've been following my content for a while, then you know that New Years is my absolute superbowl.
(NOT in the ~glitzy parties, towers of champagne, sparkly pantsuits~ way. My actual NYE plans are always just a handful of friends with DIY cocktails at someone's apartment, huddled around a stream of the ball drop on TV. And yes, before you ask—I've been to the ball drop in person. It's 568345x better on TV.)
No, when I say New Years is my superbowl, I mean in the ~musing on the past year, setting intentions for the upcoming year, feeling of fresh starts~ kinda way.
…because as much as people love to hate on “New Year, new me”, I think New Years is an excellent opportunity to both reflect & look ahead.
And with that, I've got this theory: the reason people hate New Years is because they never follow through with their goals --->
… and they never follow through with their goals because they set all these intentions that don't actually matter to them --->
… and they set all these intentions that don't actually matter to them because they listed their “resolutions” on a scrap piece of paper at 11:30pm on 12.31, without giving themselves enough time to reflect on the past year and figure out what actually does matter to them.
That's why you gotta start now.
Personally, I love to leave the actual forward-thinking part for December. So catch me being ~reflective~ for the next couple of weeks, journaling & musing about all the things I loved about this year and all the ways I could have shown up for myself and my business more intentionally.
(And have I mentioned that this reflection part is a very Thanksgiving-y activity anyways? Bake a little gratitude into it, and it's like you're not even thinking about New Years yet ;)).
So, over the next couple of weeks, we're gonna chat all things ~reflection~. (And in December, we're gonna chat all things 2024 planning!) There will be journal prompts, ideas, tools, strategies, you name it.
Can't wait for this little series. I truly live for this sh*t.
P.S. [Not sponsored, just obsessed:] This Thursday, Wilde House Paper is having a pre-Black Friday sale and I am 10000% purchasing this
