I have recently discovered that I love putting together images that stir somehing inside me. Ideas, textures, emotions, sensations. Present and future. Earth and air. Fire and passion. How do they look together? What do they suggest?
Moreover, I present to you - below - the new album by a musician that you will love, in Carnia Friulian language.
I'll also explain to you the reasons why these collages came into being. Want to find out?
I made these collages so that I could be told what my instinct stacking is.
WHAT? You'll ask me. Yes, indeed, the order of my instincts within the enneagram. According to the Enneagram, a system of psychological self-knowledge based on ancient mystical and Eastern teachings, developed by Gurdjieff, Ichazo and Claudio Naranjo, there are nine personality types based on nine archetypes. Each represents a map of specific characteristics and patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior. Today there are many currents of psychology that use it for personal development.
Apart from the nine main archetypes, each person has three instincts: self-preservation (SP), social (SO) and sexual (SX). The enneagrammer.com team is dedicated to determining your complete typology ("typing", paid service) through a video in which you answer questions, and through collages with images freely chosen by you. According to the order in which we have our instincts arranged, this is how we act in life. As the theory of instinct stacking defends, we have a dominant (primary) instinct, a secondary one, and a third which is the blind spot, an underdeveloped instinct. This brings us all kinds of problems, since a balance of the three would be ideal, but it is almost impossible. And it is very, very useful to know where we could put some energy to have a more balanced life. It is also useful to know at a social level what stacking instinct the people in our family, friends, and the majority of the population have. You understand so much then!
The enneagrammer.com team says: “when we collect and arrange images of our choosing into a collage, we have an implicit way of presenting the most important things about us. Instincts are the most deeply embedded pre-verbal processes operating within us that manifest clearly in the images that appeal to us. Testing with words is a flawed method since language itself was developed as a social instrument..". In this article they introduce you to the six stackings (SP/SO, SO/SP, SP/SX, SX/SP, SO/SX i SX/SO), What their traits are and what kinds of collage they create.
All the collages in this newsletter I created in order to be accuratelly typed by them. It is fascinating to observe and find out what a picture says in non-verbal language, isn't it? What might these collages say about me?
Interested in me talking more about this? If so, tell me!
And now I want to introduce you to a musician that I love:
Massimo Silverio
This musician, who is a native of the Carnia region (Friuli, Italy), sings in his mother tongue, Carnic Friulian. Have you ever heard Friulian in songs? It's beautiful, and It is an extremely musical language. Want to check it out for yourself?
I present to you Massimo's debut album: ‘Hrudja” is the ancestor of the word “Grusa” which in Friulian indicates the crust of a wound, a metaphor of rebirth and healing but also of a coat of arms, a memory of something that is disappearing. Hrudja is a deep portrait of Massimo’s language.
"I have always had a strong attraction to the sound and meaning of the words I used to hear from my grandparents and parents. Timbres, melodies and nuances of senses that I have no longer found in those of my peers. So for my music I used the language of my heart, the metrics and the taste of the Friulian villotta (musical composition) combined with a raw, evocative and contrasting sound"
Starting at a very young age, Silverio has created an imaginary world made of places, mountains and rivers, faces and ancient rituals translated into music through the use of classical instruments such as the cello, double bass, prepared percussion, piano and folk ones such as the guzla (instrument of the Dinaric Alps), but also synthesizers, guitars, organ…
The mysterious and deeply intimate atmosphere of Massimo's music reminds me a lot of Belgian musician Tamino. Do you know him? Tamino, however, sings in English. It's about time we consume quality music in non-global languages, quality is not conveyed only through English!

Translation by Sam Abrams
Song leads me on, and strange animals surround me, pure, accustomed to serve; I recognize them as children of my destiny, mild before fire and fierce to omens.
I no longer need interpreters for death: it is upwards in life that my path is turning; if what I have learned will not bear fruit for me, what I have lived will not be counted in years.
I feel the world is, like my footsteps, absolute: light reveals the cry of the deep heart and is its measure. What would wisdom
be worth? Mad acts of mine which have made me, eager pack of hounds, I entrust to you my great suit; and we shall fill ourselves with love, as with a prey.
