Move over sip ‘n’ paint! Tequila & terrarium's where it's at. Popping up all over the country, you can find all-inclusive onsite classes through Class Bento, Eventbrite, Classpop!, or through your local community events board. Obviously, offerings will vary depending on the host and your location, but we've seen some interesting iterations of this trend including a mini cemetery-terrarium class, sip and plant with hors d'ouevres and wine, and a virtual version you can build with your partner from the comfort of your home.

All metaphors about relationships as a garden aside, couples who plant together do tend to enjoy better communication through teamwork, quality time well spent, and shared satisfaction watching the fruits of their labor literally bloom. Plus, people who love to garden are known to be better lovers
so get to tending that tiny terrarium!

Amy mixing dough with Arlo
It’s February, which means boxes of chocolates, and balloons, and the light existential dread that maybe your relationship is sort-of, ever so slightly on auto-pilot. Just me?

I’ve never been a big Valentine’s Day fan. It screams of fabrication and PDA but I’ll admit, being in this business, I’ve started getting a little soft spot for it. Having a kid does that to you, too.

This year, my son, Arlo, and I decided to make cookies for his daycare class and our neighbors. It was like Christmas morning delivering them to his friends. He was giddy with excitement sharing one of his favorite things (chocolate) with everyone else. Plus, it meant he got a lot of extra cookies, too. (read more)

The antithesis of jet-setting, traveling by train is fast becoming the slow-living way to explore the world. From domestic travel to far-flung all-inclusive experiences abroad, vacationing by train caters to a variety of budgets, interests, and activity levels. Some of our favorites:

For domestic travel, check out CondĂ© Nast Traveler's list of 5 US Sleeper Train Routes. In recent years, several US lines have stepped up their on-board offerings to include comfortable private cabins and public observation cars to take in some of the most picturesque vistas in the world. More eco-friendly than flying and less tolling than a road trip, enjoy a peaceful night's sleep and wake up at your destination refreshed & ready to explore.

For a first-class all-inclusive splurge, look no further than the Belmond train tours. You may recognize their Royal Scotsman as the inspo for the Hogwarts Express. Their newest tour through the heart of Malaysia is in partnership with wildlife organization, Save Wild Tigers. Experience white-glove luxury with Champagne and Caviar on tap, a late night jazz cabaret, and very fine dining on the way to tailored off-board excursions meeting locals and experiencing regional cuisine
and tigers, oh my!
