Every month we pick a theme/challenge to inspire
personal exploration and insight sharing.
Have you ever taken a wrong turn only to discover a new way to get to where you're going? How did you feel when you got there? I took a different street when I drove to the gym this week, and it gave me a bit of a REFRESH. I noticed different trees and houses.

It gave me a new perspective.

We all have our routines. They help us move through our day with efficiency and ease. Thank goodness for routine! Being a creature of habit can be a good thing, but sometimes it's nice to mix things up. Go a different way. Get lost and then get found.

Exchange the “same old same old" for something new and different.

This month's theme is all about inviting in new PERSPECTIVE. Where might you be stuck in a rut? Where might some new ways of thinking elevate your studies? Changing things in your physical environment (like walking a different way to class) can help you CHANGE UP your thoughts and overall vibe.

Here are a few simple ways to change things up:
  • Clean off your desk and place something in view that makes you feel special
  • Change the wallpaper on your computer or phone (clean up your desktop while you're at it)
  • Order something NEW at Starbucks!
  • Sit in a new seat in class (I know this might disrupt the “order” LOL)
  • Clean out your sock drawer
Some of these might make you chuckle, but try it! Even the simplest of shifts can lead to new perspective. A fresh look and feel. New ideas. Clarity on something that's been stuck.

This month, your challenge is to MIX THINGS UP and find new perspectives in the least likely places. Play around with small shifts, and then let us know what you discover! Log into our 365 space and leave a comment. You inspire fellow TRIO/McNair students when you do.
