Hi friend,

I am SO FREAKING EXCITED to have one of my personal heroes as our June guest speaker in the Body Liberation Blanket Fort!

On June 26, Ragen Chastain will be joining us for a webinar created just for us — Fat Health Myths. She'll be sharing some of the myths about fatness and health that most stress fat folks out, and explaining what's based on evidence and what's just plain diet culture.

(And yes, an area I've specifically asked Ragen to cover is Ozempic and other medications being used for weight loss.)

Join us for about an hour at 6 pm Easter/5 pm Central/3 pm Pacific on June 26. It'll also be recorded for members to enjoy any time.

What is Juneteenth? Why do we celebrate it? And how can white people help Black people on this day without taking over?
Juneteenth is on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Since as of 2021, Juneteenth is now a U.S. federal holiday, more white people are aware of its existence, and thus more white people need to learn about its significance and how to act in a way that supports Black people.

Juneteenth is the oldest-known celebration marking the end of slavery in the United States, first recognized by the state of Texas. It is also known as “Freedom Day,” “Juneteenth Independence Day,” or “Emancipation Day.”

I've collected some great articles and posts about the history of this day and points for white people to reflect on.

Unapologetically fat,
