~ Email #72 ~ 4 Causes of Inflammation What if there was more you could do for common issues you may be experiencing than you realize? Issues such as: - Extra pounds you struggle to lose
- Poor sleep - either can’t get to sleep, stay asleep or wake up feeling exhausted
- Foggy brain
- Low energy
- Painful joints
- Bloating
While, of course, these symptoms can be caused by other issues, inflammation is definitely part of the problem, too, AND when you do something to reduce inflammation, these issues will likely better. In other words, reducing inflammation won't hurt the situation and will most likely help AND it's pretty easy to work on it! Here’s the thing, 4 of the main causes of inflammation are things well within our control. Yep, inflammation is mainly an issue of lifestyle - meaning you can change it! 4 of the Main Causes of Inflammation: - Toxins in Your Home: Everyday products we use all the time contain toxins in them that are harmful for our health. Our immune system has to work overtime to get rid of them, leading to inflammation. It is not hard to get rid of a huge chunk of the toxins with just 3 changes.
- Stress: Yep, we all experience it and it takes its toll on our bodies and minds. Learning how to truly relax will make a huge difference - and it’s not hard! Plus, it will help you with the next one.
- Exhaustion: Getting not only enough sleep, but deep, quality sleep is a challenge in the best of times.
- Diet: We have inflammatory foods and anti-inflammatory foods. You can probably guess what is in each category, but google a list if you want more. Work on reducing inflammatory foods and adding in a couple of new anti-inflammatory foods each week.
Oh, and what is inflammation? It is essentially your immune system going haywire because of being overworked. Here’s a challenge that can make a HUGE difference in the long run. Take 5 minutes a day for the next 7 days to stop and take some relaxing breaths. Relax your shoulders, drop your breath to the belly and extend your exhale. Do it at a time when it’s easy for you and see if you can keep going past 7 days. Set an alarm on your phone to help you remember. |
