While the general noise level from the anti-DEI backlash folks seems to have dropped a bit, legal activities against DEI initiatives are mounting. DEI opposers are also finding more ways to attack DEI: from states passing anti-DEI laws, and conservative groups filing lawsuits, to activist shareholder groups filing anti-DEI shareholder motions. It is also concerning how some parts of academia are reacting vehemently to DEI initiatives (see below). Rather than trying to fight these attacks head-on, we need to de-polarize the conversations, and find ways to focus on what needs to be fixed and how to fix it. – Team Aleria |
