STRAIGHT TALK!
Hey,
It’s time to say what we are thinking out loud: How is perimenopause or menopause going for you?
Seriously, why is it something we don’t talk about all the time and feel comfortable talking about it. Afterall, we will all go through it!
Literally every woman on earth will go through menopause.
We bet there are are a few questions you have been hesitant to ask or maybe you didn’t even think to ask them because no one (even our doctors) talks about it:
- Is bloating & gas normal - is there anything I can do?
- Is it normal to have pain with sex?
- Why is my digestion such a mess? Is there something I can do for my IBS/constipation/diarrhea?
- Can I improve my moods? (Read: Can I be less of a Bitch? ;-) )
Have you ever heard… “It’s ~ fill in hundreds of things here ~ because you’re getting older.”
Did you know this about Belly fat?
- There are two kinds of belly fat: subcutaneous and visceral.
- Visceral is what we have when it shows up during perimenopause and it reacts differently than subcutaneous.
- It’s related to the drop in estrogen and associated with inflammation
- It’s linked to stress and cardiovascular disease.
- It isn’t affected by low calorie diets. To lose visceral fat, you need a high fiber diet and tons of protein.
Us, too. :-) AND there is MORE! We are just scratching the surface with our challenges
Finally, and most importantly, do you ever ask Is there anything I can do to help me feel better?

It feels so inevitable (ummmm… because it is), BUT there is much we can do - that is well within our control!
Remember, we here at the wellness place define wellness as what we can do, the action steps we can take, to support our wellness.

We have FIVE topics we will be covering - and we are still choosing those topics - we need you to VOTE!
Each topic will be led by one of our leaders who has had success in that area so you will hear her story AND then get at least 3 ways you can begin to counter that challenge for yourself!
