Thank you for being here. “To my trans siblings: your existence is revolutionary. you carry the legacy of our Ancestors who lived their truths long before colonizers deemed us “unnatural.” you deserve freedom, love, and joy—not resilience in the face of violence.” ~ king yaa Greetings Everyone, People who’ve been connected with me for some time know I often talk about my heightened state of fear as a Black trans person living in the rural South, especially considering my visibility online. But now, with the looming presidential installment and his pledge of even harsher anti-trans policies, it feels suffocating. This newsletter is honoring all the trans, gender expansive folks, their loved ones, care takers and comrades in the struggle (across the country and abroad) who are already enduring, dehumanizing anti-trans laws that are banning our access to adequate healthcare, erasing us in schools and criminalizing our very existence. Many recently recognized Trans Awareness Week, but every single day is a fight for our survival and a call for solidarity. Therefore, this collection of community resources is dedicated to providing trans support in this current political climate. You can find a link to last week’s resources HERE Trans Resources: - 7 Critical Mutual Aid Funds Helping Trans Americans Right Now by Samantha: These funds help trans folks find safe shelter, obtain gender-affirming care, change legal identity documents, and more.
