It’s my last newsletter of the year, and I wanted to offer a handful of year-end check in questions you can go through on your own time.
Write out your answers to these questions. Take them on a walk with you. Voice note yourself. Have a call with a peer and answer them together…
Whatever supports compassion & curiosity in yourself.
Ready?
Here we go:
— 1. You In Your Business:
- What are you proud of doing or achieving this year?
- What have you learned about how you and your energy work best?
- When did you feel most confident, fulfilled, energized, or powerful in your business?
— 2. Your Business Ecosystem:
- What have you learned about how your business works? (What works or doesn’t work in terms of products/services, marketing, sales, planning, customer service, etc)
- What areas of your business received the most amount of attention and resource? The least? Why? How do you think this affected your results?
— 3. Your Clients/Customers:
- What have you learned about your best-fit clients/customers/projects this year?
- Where have these best-fit people/opportunities come from?
- What have your clients/customers/audience told you they care about (through their comments, spending, clicks, silence, etc), and does any of this surprise you?
One of the most valuable aspects of reflection is the opportunity for reality testing.
We move through the world with stories about who we are, how we work, how our business works, why people do or don't buy from us…
Often those stories are outdated, warped, or simply incomplete.
It’s a gift to give yourself the true or complete story, even if it stings.
This is how we’re able to make meaningful change (not just swap out one avoidance strategy for another), by getting specific about what’s actually going on and what resource we have available to make change.
There are always other doors, remember?

If you’d like to talk through the answers to some of these questions together, or do a personalized deeper dive… look out for an email Wednesday about Year Ahead Sessions. A great opportunity to pull out specific, meaningful learnings from 2024… and define growth on your own terms for 2025.
