Hi friend,

Occasionally I get professional crushes on people, people whose work or presences I really admire, and I've been crushin' on Kayla Stansberry for a while now.

Kayla runs the @fatpositivetherapist Instagram account and Fat Positive Everything newsletter and podcast, and it was a joy to join her and record our chat for you.

Kayla decided to call our episode Love Letter to Fat Activists, and that couldn't be more accurate.

In this conversation, Kayla and I explore the themes of fat liberation, body image, and the complexities of activism within the community. We discuss my personal journey, the cultural influences on body image, and the challenges faced by larger bodies in the activism space.

Our conversation emphasizes the importance of community support, mentorship, and the impact of privilege in navigating these issues. We also touch on the pressures of public perception and the dangers of weight loss narratives, ultimately highlighting the need for ongoing dialogue and support within the community.

Unapologetically fat,
