TIPS FOR WEEK THREE:

  • To make it a little less confusing, I crossed out the Small Throw colorway diagrams on the top right of Page 8. That way I'm only looking at the colorway diagrams for the size I'm making.

  • It might also be helpful, even though there is a color key you can reference, to label the colorway diagrams with the colors used. For example, in the first Large Throw colorway diagram for the Flower Unit, color 2 is used for the flower center, color 3 for the petals, and color 4 for the background. I wrote those numbers directly on the corresponding sections of the diagram.

  • You can choose to sort all of your Flower Unit pieces by color combo ahead of time, or, if you're like me and that feels overwhelming, just sort as you go. For example, in Step 2, I only sorted the G and R pieces. Taking it one step at a time helps me stay organized and prevents color mix-ups since I'm not trying to figure everything out at once.

  • For the first time ever in one of my patterns, I’ve included pressing arrows in the diagrams! Following these pressing instructions is especially important in this pattern to ensure your seams nest perfectly when joining the rows later.
