How I got a months work done in a week
1. Weekly Planning > Daily Planning
Instead of scrambling every morning, I sat down Sunday night and planned my entire week
Monday: Building a data pipeline at work
Tuesday: Scripting + Ideation
Wednesday: Consulted a person from Morocco about moving abroad
…and so on
I even planned meals (cook once Mon-Fri), watch a movie, and chill.
More about meal prep in this beautifully explained video by my
friend here.
You might think that kills spontaneity. It doesn’t. It gives your brain space to actually enjoy those moments without guilt.
2. Maker vs Manager Blocks
Divide the day into two like this:
Maker’s Block (deep focus): scripting, data analysis work, shooting content etc.
During this time only do tasks which require 100% focus and you can deliver on that expectations. For me it's in the morning post walk. For you it could be evening, night or noon.
Manager’s Block (light focus): replying to DMs, emails, groceries, video editing reviews etc
I am usually doing these later in the day post lunch, because that's when I am feeling sluggish and less focused.Try this for a week. You’ll feel like you doubled your output.
3. Journaling = Data
Two weeks ago when I was sick. I wrote about it in my journal. And while at it I looked back and realised I was sick around this same time last year. And the year before. 1st May in 2024, 9th May in 2023. Wild right? That’s the power of journaling. It helps you see patterns. See what breaks your rhythm. What boosts your energy.
And over time you optimise your life around it. And honestly this one particularly I wasn't doing intentionally but I feel very emotional when I am sick so I journal alot could be written, voice notes, sketch format doesn't matter really. But isn't this super cool?
