Fun fact: this tradition started back in 1979 as a way for a few locals to bring some life to the slow season and has turned into a full-on 10-day celebration of art, costumes, and pure Key West energy. Every October, people from all over the world come together to let loose, get a little weird, and celebrate island life in the most colorful way possible. You are guaranteed a great time whether you go all out or just people-watch. There's literally nothing quite like it.
This month, I’ve been focusing on getting back to the basics of wellness! Simple, intentional habits that help me feel grounded, clear, and connected. Wellness has always been a big part of my life, but lately, I’ve been reminded that it doesn’t have to be complicated to make a difference.
Here are a few of the practices I’m leaning into this month:
10K steps a day – Moving my body every day keeps me energized and gives me time to connect with nature.
A gallon of water – Hydration is key! It’s such a small thing, but it makes a huge impact on how I feel.
Mindfulness & meditation – Taking a few quiet moments each day to slow down, breathe, and reset. Sometimes it's just 5 minutes, but even that feels amazing.
Intentional sunsets – Not just catching glimpses while driving down the Keys (though that’s a huge perk!), but actually setting aside time to sit, watch, and be fully present with it.
