Hey First name / friend — grab a coffee and let’s chat.

November is here, and these next two months are about to be jam-packed with literally all the things. I know your time is precious this time of year, which makes it even more special that you’re taking a moment to read this month’s newsletter. I’m genuinely so thankful for you, girlfriend. I couldn’t do any of this without you, and I hope you know how much your support and friendship mean to me. 🖤

This month’s style tip is a good one — especially for a season full of events, gatherings, and last-minute plans. It’s so easy to feel like you “need” a brand-new outfit for every occasion, but truthfully, with a little brainstorming (and maybe a tiny bit of trial and error), you can build something fresh and exciting using pieces you already have in your closet.

So let’s jump right in.

style it like a
STAPLE

One thing about me? I love getting the most out of my wardrobe. This monthly segment is all about showing you how to make your closet work harder by styling one key piece in fresh, unexpected ways. Whether it’s something you already own or something new you’ve been eyeing, my goal is to help you see it through a new lens — and fall in love with it all over again.

Because when you learn to style something like a staple, it becomes more than just a one-time wear. It turns into a go-to. A favorite. A piece that makes getting dressed easier (and way more fun).

This Month’s Styling Tip: Making your silk skirt work for every occasion.

That silk skirt hanging in your closet doesn’t have to wait for a special event. Say the word silk and everyone thinks special occasion, but with the right styling, it can be a surprisingly versatile staple in your wardrobe. From casual coffee runs to evening dinners, your silk skirt can easily go from day to night. It’s time to bring that beauty into your weekly rotation and discover just how many outfit possibilities it truly offers.

My Grandma Tiny was one of my most favorite people. We were never not up to something in the kitchen. She was an expert pie maker, and this month I wanted to share her infamous pie-crust recipe with you. It is truly the best. I won’t pretend it’s healthy — because it isn’t. But the flavor is unbeatable, and the crust turns out perfectly flaky every single time.
GRANDMA TINY'S PIE CRUST

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • â…” Cup Shortening (Yes, it needs to be Crisco!!)
  • â…“ Cup Milk
Note:
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add flour, salt and shortening into a bowl
  2. Cut the shortening into the flour
  3. Add in milk and mix together until just combined
  4. Flour your surface and roll out your dough
The key here is to not over work the dough! Something that was heavily emphasized by Grandma Tiny is if you overwork the dough it won’t be flakey! This pie crust isn’t made for presentation, it is made for taste. So if you are having to hodge podge it together into the pie dish, that is okay!!

INGREDIENTS
  • 4–5 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, cut into thin squares
  • 1 cup brown sugar (adjust to your sweetness preference)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Prep the apples: Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin, even pieces so they cook evenly.
  3. Season the apples: In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with the cinnamon and brown sugar. Give them a good mix and let them “sweat” for 3–5 minutes.
  4. Fill the crust: Add the apple mixture to the bottom pie crust, then dot the top with the butter pieces.
  5. Top and seal: Place the second pie crust over the apples and crimp or shape the edges to seal.
  6. Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
If we’re being honest, though — one thing Grandma Tiny always taught me is that pies turn out best when you add a little extra love and don’t take the measurements too seriously. Do what feels right! Make it from the heart.
