Four Elements - Progress Report

As mentioned in last month’s update, here is the completed “Four Elements” series (Earth, Air, Fire, and Water). 🔥💦🪶🌿

Since I had four large marbles in the same color palette, I also created a Joseph Cornell–inspired shadowbox to accompany the set. 

I have an idea for one more piece (or possibly another set of four) before the collection is complete.

Inspiration Everywhere

Check out this functional LEGO® brick-made typewriter that punches letters onto a reusable, rotating board for writing messages. The project is inspired by the official typewriter set released by LEGO® in 2021. 📄

 

What if a single book could turn any door into a portal to anywhere? I recently read (and loved) this book by Gareth Brown and highly recommend it for those who loved The Midnight Library or The Night Circus. It’s a story about possibility, risk, and the truth that some doors are better left closed.🚪

 

Speaking of doors, did you know there are places said to be “portals to hell” all across the world? From folklore to very real pits, caves and craters, here are Atlas Obscura’s favorite portals to take you to the netherworld. Though I usually love exploring locations off the beaten path, I’ll be doing my best to avoid these. 👹
