Workout Recovery
(or gardening…or shoveling…or cooking…you get the picture!)
Did you know… there is so much more you can do for your body when you are sore than simply wait for your body to feel better?
Whether you are working out or gardening or on your feet shopping or cooking too long, our bodies get sore.
Muscle soreness can be a sign that your body is adapting and getting stronger—but it doesn't mean you have to suffer through it.
One of the biggest mistakes I see women make is thinking they have to choose between pushing harder or doing nothing at all. The truth is, your body recovers best when you support it.
As always, we have a few wellness suggestions and then a few Young Living products to help you with recovery - both from the inside and the outside. (This is where Young Living really shines!)
Wellness suggestions:
✨ Keep moving. A gentle walk or an easy yoga session increases circulation and often helps reduce stiffness much more than spending the day on the couch.
💧 Hydrate well. Your muscles need water to recover. Even mild dehydration can make soreness feel worse.
😴 Prioritize sleep. This is when much of your body's repair work happens. A good night's sleep is one of the best recovery tools you have.
🧘 Stretch...gently. A few minutes of mindful stretching or mobility work can help restore comfortable movement. (No forcing yourself into painful stretches!)
🔥 Use heat or gentle massage. A warm bath, heating pad, foam roller, or massage can help ease tight muscles and leave you feeling more comfortable.
Treat recovery as part of your workout plan, not something extra you do if you have time.
Your body is working hard for you every single day. Giving it the support it needs isn't being lazy—it's being smart.
Young Living products we love…
On the inside:
AMINOWISE: This is our favorite product for inside - we can
literally reduce the recovery time in half. Denae's hubby discovered it first. He could hardly believe what a difference it made the day after a hard workout. Now at the end of an active day, one of them will ask, “Has it been an AminoWise day?” It’s seriously like magic! You can read all about it
here.
On the outside:
Cool Azul Pain Cream: One of Laura’s faves for painful joints. It helps with inflammation and reducing the discomfort.
CBD Muscle Rub: Denae swears by this one for just about anywhere! Read more
