Special announcement:
PHAN forming a partnership with Safer Air Project

We’re excited to announce that PHAN is forming a partnership with Safer Air Project, a nonprofit organization based in Sydney, Australia.

Safer Air Project’s work is centered around a simple but powerful idea: making the invisible visible. They encourage businesses, schools, workplaces, healthcare settings, and other shared indoor spaces to monitor their air quality and make that information publicly accessible. The goal is not just better data. It is giving people the ability to understand the risks around them and make informed decisions about the spaces they enter.

That same idea is a core principle of PHAN’s work and many of our projects and conversations revolve around it. So many of the public health failures we are trying to address are invisible until the damage is already done: airborne transmission, chronic illness, immune vulnerability, inaccessible public spaces, and the everyday risks people are expected to quietly absorb.

Through this partnership, PHAN will work with Safer Air Project on public education, technical strategy, conference and paper promotion, global standards, and broader efforts to move clean indoor air from awareness into adoption and action. Clean indoor air should not be treated as a luxury or an afterthought. It should be part of how we protect people from preventable illness and make public life more accessible to everyone.

We’re especially excited to work with Plum Stone and the Safer Air Project team because they have already built real momentum across community, policy, and global indoor air conversations. Together, we’ll keep pushing to make the invisible visible, and then make it actionable using a variety of tools and evidenced backed information.
