Dear First name / friend

Can you believe we are nearly in mid September … we will be in festive swing before you know it!

This week we're going to cover salt … what does it do to sourdough and what to do if you forget to add it?
Do I really have to add salt to my dough … what would happen if I left it out?”.

While salt might seem insignificant, it actually plays a really important role in your sourdough bread. In fact, salt can actually affect more than just the flavor of your sourdough bread.

Did you know that salt actually regulates the fermentation of your sourdough, strengthens the gluten and even acts as a preservative once your bread is baked. Pretty cool right?

But, what if you forget to add the salt? There are actually a few things you can do to save your loaf. You can read about what to do to save your sourdough bread here.

With the weather changing, it might be time to try a new flavor in your next sourdough bake. Why not mix things up with a Lemon and Blueberry Loaf or even my favorite Maple & Coffee Infused Date Sourdough (seriously good!).

Oh and if you missed last week's question - you can read the question and answer here.

As always, I love to see your sourdough wins - and help you with any problems you might be having. Have a question you'd like answered on my site? Let me know!

Until next week,

Wishing you sourdough success,

Kate
