It's fall y'all

I don't even care if it's 82 degrees outside and that I'm sweating profusely through my Halloween knitted sweater as I write this, IT'S FALL Y'ALL.

Does the sun feel happier today?

I read something the other day that said biologically, colder weather sparks positive reactions and helps us think more clearly. And “temporal landmarks," like fall, can play a huge role in boosting our motivation. And look, I'm not saying fall is the best season of the year, but fall is the best season of the year.

I love everything about this time of year. I love it so much that as soon as the season starts I worry about it ending too soon. I've always felt insane for thinking this way in the middle of joyous moments, but earlier this year when I read Brene Brown's book, Daring Greatly, I felt seen. I was reminded of her book this week, and in it, she shares that the most terrifying emotion for her is joy. I highly recommend all her books, but I've linked this specific clip that I found especially powerful where she talks about it on the Oprah show. The whole “dress rehearsing tragedy” blew my mind, and I think would serve as a good reminder if you have 5 minutes to spare.

I am so happy my fall video resonated with so many of you yesterday. If you missed it, I've shared it below. BEST. SEASON. EVER.

Random things

I discovered this duo on TikTok (they're also on Instagram). It's two UPS workers that lip sync, and their account is guaranteed to make you smile. Here's the initial video that got my initial attention.

My husband sent this to me, and now I want to try this prank on my kids. (if you don't like kid pranks, please skip it) And if you try it, please send it to me, OKAY?
