Happy Friday!
(Yay it's December)
I was watching a show recently where a girl had some major news to share with her friend but waited to tell her the next day at lunch. This absolutely floored me. Where did she learn this ungodly amount of restraint? How was she able to sleep at night and go about the rest of her day? What did she do with her phone, the very device made for occasions like this?

When I found out I was pregnant with our first born child I called my husband. And when he didn't answer, I texted him because I couldn't contain myself. I TEXTED HIM THE NEWS OF MY PREGNANCY WITH OUR FIRST CHILD.

LOVED this documentary

Jonah Hill has a powerful documentary on Netflix called Stutz where he interviews his therapist. He starts it sharing his frustration with traditional therapy and says, “They just listen. And your friends who are idiots give you advice. And you want your friends just to listen. And you want your therapist to give you advice.”

His current therapist doesn't follow that ideology, and instead has equipped Jonah with some incredible tools that he shares throughout the documentary. I highly recommend watching, but I did want to share a snippet from the beginning that especially resonated with me that I think will resonate with many of you.

His therapist, Stutz, said the first thing he had Jonah work on was his “life force." Improving your life force, he says, is the first step to getting better. It's a pyramid with three layers. The bottom (and largest) is the relationship you have with your body. So for example, sleep, exercise..etc. The second, is your relationship with other people. And the last (at the top), is the relationship you have with yourself. But what I found especially powerful in this scene, was Jonah's revelation.

"When I was a kid, exercise and diet was framed to me as like, there's something wrong with how you look. But never once was exercise and diet propositioned to me in terms of mental health. I just wish that was presented to people differently." I felt this deeply and it was one of the most powerful scenes.

The entire documentary is filled with nuggets of wisdom and tools. Highly recommend.

And on that note..

And on the note of diet and exercise (and mental health), this entire thread on twitter is fascinating. Click here to read the findings and comments.
