Happy Friday!
I went to get something notarized this week, which felt like a very grown-up thing to do. I walked into UPS and pretended to have my life together like I didn't just Google “how to notarize a document” an hour prior. The girl at the counter asked me to step aside as she gathered all the necessary materials, and I obliged. Lost in my phone a couple minutes later, I felt everyone in the store staring at me.

“Ma'am?” She said, apparently for the third time. I looked around the store wondering who she was speaking to, and then locked eyes with her.

“Oh, ME?

Harsh words from someone that barely just met me 5 minutes ago, but okay. She may as well have told me I'm nearing my expiration date and to start making funeral arrangements.

I'm no ma'am, I thought to myself as I clutched my pearls, walked out of that store, and went home to eat my dinner at 4pm.

What an inspiration
Do you guys remember the actor Brendan Fraser? He was in movies like Encino Man, Blast From the Past, and George of the Jungle. I've always wondered what happened to him after the 90's, and then this week I came across his acceptance speech for his award for The Whale, and learned the heartbreaking reason why.

You can read all about it here if you're interested, but he was sexually assaulted by someone very powerful in film and felt shunned by the industry after coming forward. He went from being an incredibly public figure, to completely disappearing and went into a deep depression.

The reason I shared that background information, is so that you have context to this heartwarming acceptance speech below. What a beautiful story of redemption, and an inspiration for anyone that is going through (or has gone through) a dark time in their life. I'm definitely adding that movie to my list.

Love this.
As a recovering addict to hustle culture, I love this.
