After Birth
Nothing - and I mean nothing. Nobody - and I mean nobody,
can preemptively lend adequate physical or spiritual vision to the transformation that beats in your heart and covers your body and drenches your soul - for the way you
will feel and the way you will be and the way you will know and the way you will journey - after birth.
 
I have to believe that God, in His infinite wisdom, designed it that way - with translation for only the bearer. For intimacy that cannot be duplicated, for reverence non-transferrable. Nobody gets to understand it in your stead, nothing fills in its stead. It lasts forever. It is intangible, and it is yours.
I have spent the last two+ months after birth from the womb of America. I have traveled to new, wondrous cities, countries, and continents. I have met people who I will likely never see on the soil of this earth again, and those who will stay in this life with me, forever. I knew who I was before I packed my house and my business and my life.  
 
But nothing, and I mean nothing. Nobody - and I mean nobody, could have preemptively lended adequate vision to the transformation that would beat in my heart the way it is beating now, the way it covers this body of mine as I go on, the drenching that has liberally washed over my soul - after this birth.

It's been lovely, the staying connected with my clients in CLT. From trains and planes, hotels and airbnbs - they have been with me, all over the place, and here in JoBurg. From hours long prenatal gatherings to quick text exchanges - journeying through the ebbs and flows of their pregnancies, their lives - preparing for labor, birth, and the after.
