Welcome to Notes From Natty - our standing Friday morning coffee date (inbox style of course) where you get a weekly digest of stories, writing tips and a round up of the latest at Natty Writes. Grab your cup (Iāve got mine āļø) & letās dig in ā¬ļø
Ā
I unintentionally ghosted you for 3 weeks, First name / friend, and honestly, that's sooooo unlike me, especially when it comes to this email relationship of ours!
Ā
For the last 2.5ish years, Notes From Natty has arrived in your inbox almost every Friday like clockwork.
Ā
Thereās been very few weeks that Iāve skipped and if I did skip it, itās because I planned to.Ā
Ā
Because well, if you know me at all, then you know I LIVE for a plan.
Ā
(Which is the main reason I can never shut up about quarterly blog planning, but Iām not gonna go into all of that in this newsletter - instead, Iāll point you here, here, and here in case you wanna know more about all that!) Ā
I like knowing what to expect and when things are going to happen.
Ā
Even during my maternity leave where I took 3 months off, I somehow still managed to make this newsletter a priority ā mainly because
I PLANNED for that to be the case.Ā
Ā
But in the name of being transparent with you, the last few months Iāve been feeling a little meh when it comes to the way I typically write and send emails.Ā
Ā
Dare I say, Iāve fallen a little out of love with the⦠PLAN?! š«£
Ā
When I realized that Iāve not been super excited about my newsletter lately, I knew that something had to change.Ā
Ā
In the past, Iāve typically been one to keep doing something even if it's not firing me up simply because āthatās the way itās always been done.ā
Ā
But something I reminded myself of recently ā that you might need to hear too ā is that youāre allowed to change your mind.Ā
Ā
Youāre allowed to do things differently ā even if itās not the way you were taught.Ā
Ā
As a business owner, it can sometimes be hard to do things a different way, because you see so many people doing one thing and itās easy to think thatās the ONLY way.Ā
Ā
But letās not forget that we have FREE WILL.Ā
Ā
If youāre not loving something in your business, you can change it.Ā
Ā
(Earth shattering advice⦠I know!)
Ā
SOOOO, where am I going with this??Ā
Ā
Well, simply put, Iām changing the way I approach my newsletter and this email relationship we have going on is going to look a little different moving forward.Ā
Ā
š WHATāS STAYING THE SAME:
Ā
First things first, letās talk about whatās not changing.Ā
- The name ā itās still Notes From Natty! Because tbh, I love alliteration and I canāt fathom changing this good thing we have going.
- The topics ā Iām still your fave blog girlie and I donāt foresee what I talk about changing all that much. Itās just the structure and the way that I do it will be new!
- The purpose ā Iāve always wanted my emails to you to feel intentional and filled with actual helpful information that youāre interested in. Iāve never just wanted to send them for the sake of saying I do it. Thatās not changing!
Ā
šØ WHATāS CHANGING:
- The frequency ā instead of one set email on Fridays, you might hear from me more often. I vow not to flood your inbox with useless fluff, but thereās a good chance youāll see me in your inbox at least twice a week! But also who knows⦠if I have more to say, it could be more. If I have nothing to say, well you might not see me at all.
(and yes, I know this goes against the traditional email marketing ārulesā ā your subscribers are supposed to know what to expect right?! I believe that, I really do! But this is what feels right to me right now, so weāre rolling with it to see what happens. If I feel the need to go back to a set day that I send emails, I will. But if Iām loving it and you are too, then WHOO HOO!)
- The length of the emails ā instead of my typical NFN structure, you can expect shorter emails that feel more like a true NOTE, instead of a jam-packed newsletter. Itāll be more real-time thoughts, things Iām learning, quick stories, blogging and content marketing advice, etc. Really itāll be whatever feels worth sharing when it feels worth sharing!
As my friend
Rebecca always says, this is a marketing experiment and honestly, itās one that Iām REALLY excited about. š„³
Ā
I hope you are too!
Ā
(But if more emails don't exactly excite you, no hard feelings ā trust me, I protect my inbox as much as the next person so if you feel the need to unsubscribe at any time, I still love you!!!)
Ā
Talk soon (and probably more often) š«¶š¼
