Sleep: Part 2
Ā
We used to think sleep support meant one thing:
Ā
Take melatonin.
Hope for the best.
Wake up groggy š
Ā
But over time, weāve learned that supporting sleep naturally is often less about āforcingā sleep⦠and more about helping the body relax enough to allow sleep.
Ā
Especially as women in midlife.
Ā
We are talking nervous system regulation and it is key to good sleep in midlife. (Oh, and also weight loss, reduced inflammation, smoother moods and so much more. Yep, itās worth talking about!)
Ā
We need to get into True Relaxation, when the nervous system is tapped into the parasympathetic nervous system.
Ā
You donāt need to understand the physiology of the parasympathetic nervous system, just know itās when the body is relaxed, itās not when the mind is numbed.
Ā
AND, it takes doing something to get you there.
Ā
THATās what we are doing in our Sleep Challenge starting on Monday! Want to join us? Itās free! Sign up here:

Sleep Support
You will often hear us say, āhere are other options to avoid depending on melatonin or other over-the-counter sleep support medicationsā.
Ā
For many women, the medications can leave us feeling foggy, dependent, or disconnected from what the body actually needs.
Ā
There are gentler, more supportive ways to approach sleep.
Ā
Here are a few of our favorite products from Young Living that help support sleep rather than creating a dependency:
Ā
šæ Essential oils for relaxation
Lavender, cedarwood, vetiver, and calming nighttime blends can help signal the body that itās time to unwind.
Ā
šæ Deep Night Essence
A favorite for helping the body settle into deeper rest and relaxation.
Ā
šæ Super Magnesium
Magnesium can be incredibly supportive for muscle relaxation, nervous system support, and sleep quality.
Ā
šæ Immupro
When the body is run down or stressed, sleep often suffers too. Immupro contains melatonin, for deep sleep support, and immune-supporting nutrients so itās perfect when you are feeling rundown when the immune system struggles. (This supplement does contain melatonin so itās meant to be used for short periods of time.)
Ā
šæ Young Living Unwind
While made for kids, we love it as adults! Designed specifically to help calm the mind and body at night. It contains many calming ingredients that are worth a google search: Ā L-Theanine, Magnesium citrate, Marine Mineral Magnesium Complex, 5-HTP, Lavender Roman Chamomile.
Ā
We all need support at times. These are the support you can trust to use regularly. (We do!)
