This block is a modern twist on the traditional Bear Paw block.  I’ve used Roman Stripe blocks in place of the simple squares to create a block that is classic, yet dynamic.  It’s a symbol of how we can honor our past and embrace the future.

This block is excellent for advanced beginners.  It uses 2 at a time half square triangles, a simple Roman block with sashing throughout.  I recommend laying out the block units prior to sewing to be sure everything is oriented the right way.  Chain piecing for making the half square triangles is also a great way to shorten the process.
