DAY 8: Boldly Loving Others
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:35 (NIV)
Living like Jesus means loving with no boundaries, no hesitations, and no strings attached. Sounds simple, right? But let’s be real: loving others in a world that celebrates self-interest can feel like swimming upstream. Yet, Jesus set the ultimate example of audacious love: washing the feet of His disciples, healing the marginalized, and forgiving those who sought to destroy Him. He calls us to do the same.
Bold love isn’t always easy. It means loving people who think differently, look differently, or even hurt us. But this kind of love isn’t about warm, fuzzy feelings; it’s a choice to show kindness, grace, and patience. It’s about seeing others as Jesus does, valuable and worthy of love, no matter their story.
This kind of love has power. It speaks louder than words and breaks down walls. When we love boldly, people take notice. They’ll wonder what fuels our joy and strength, and they’ll want to know more about the Jesus who inspires us. That’s the audacity of a disciple, loving in ways that point directly to Christ.
But bold love doesn’t just transform others—it transforms us, too. It stretches our hearts and deepens our faith as we step into the uncomfortable and the unfamiliar. When we choose to love in difficult moments, we experience God’s love for us in a whole new way. It’s in those acts of audacious love that we see His power working through us, shaping us into His image and reminding us that love is the most profound witness to who He is.
Reflection Question:
Who is God calling you to love boldly today, and what practical steps can you take to show them audacious love?
