Hi First name,    Welcome to week 9 of the Make Time Sewalong. It's Jo here from The Crafty Nomad. We have reached the final block in the quilt!   This week we are taking a look at the Nature Walk block. Very fitting as I was just reading an article all about the importance of being outside in nature for our health! |

This block is a big one, finishing up at 12" x 24", and is comprised of two sections. The bottom part is a forest scene of trees and a meandering path. Maybe you'll prefer your path to be a river, that's totally fine of course, do what makes you happy! This forest section is foundation paper pieced. |

The top section features some rolling hills and a setting sun. The technique is turned edge applique. Over on the blog I'm highlighting some of my top tips for turned edge applique. If you are new to this technique, I encourage you to give it a go. I found it really relaxing and am enjoying hand sewing more and more. Something I thought I would never enjoy! |

Share in the Facebook group We are loving seeing your blocks in the Facebook group so please do continue to share them with us! |

Next week I'll be handing back over to Nicola, as she has some tips and instructions for you for putting the blocks together to form the quilt top.   Happy quilting Jo xx |
