This block is inspired by two of my favorite traditional quilt blocks, the Churn Dash and a Nine Patch. I named it after a succulent plant that was given to me by a friend, but sadly, I could not keep it alive. The block reminds me of this plant, and I want to commemorate its time in my house before its untimely death.

This simple block will help you practice your four-at-a-time half square triangle skills (HST). It is very important to starch your fabrics before cutting and sewing them. This will help make sure the fabric is not overstretched over the making of HSTs process.
