Missing school, pushing work aside and going to the beach reminded me of those early Covid lockdown days. We always, always felt better when we went into nature to explore, play and relax. Sure, my worried monkey-mind still chattered on at me, but away from the distractions of the household and digital devices, and surrounded by the sensory experiences of nature, my nervous symptom would relax. In nature, our field of attention e x p a n d s and our bodies and brains sigh with relief.
Experiencing nature through a child's view is also a wonderfully mindful practice. They notice things we pass over, they ask questions, and they feel with their whole bodies.
